Annually, Consumers Energy sponsors one member's dependent to spend a week-long, all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C., in June. The student must be a high school sophomore, junior, or senior. The Youth Tour allows students the opportunity to visit historic monuments and museums, meet with U.S. Representatives and Senators, and meet other students from around the country on Rural Electric Youth Day.

Complete the application, and answer the following questions in essay form. The essays should be 300 words.

1. Describe your view of major challenges facing the rural community. What solutions do you envision? What part does the cooperative play in the solution?

2. Why do you want to be Consumers Energy's delegate for the 2024 Youth Tour to Washington, D.C.?
